The WKU Department of Communication requests a one-year, one-time money funded, Professional-in-Residence position on a waiver hire for Kara Williams Glenn, who currently is the manager of Imagewest, the student-run Advertising and Public Relations internship organization.
The proposed Professional-in-Residence position is co-sponsored by the Communication and Art departments. Its responsibilities include: teaching two sections of graphic arts design per semester, serving as the instructor of record for all internships served in Imagewest, and running the business of Imagewest.
Student credit hour production would be approximately:
192 SCH per year for Art 330, 2 sections (one of 17 and one of 15) in the fall and 2 sections in the spring (the same)
270 SCH per year for COMM, AD, PR 489: Internships. 30 in the fall; 30 in the spring; and 30 in the winter/summer terms
462 SCH per year, approximately, depending upon enrollments in the two sections of Art 330 and the collected sections of 489: Internships.
Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of professional experience.
