Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL) is searching for a proactive individual to provide administrative support with communications (external and internal stakeholders) and special projects for its Banbury Conference Center located in Lloyd Harbor. The Center holds closed meetings for 25-30 participants on important topics across bioscience research, policy, and education.
This is a full-time position 9am-5pm Monday through Friday, with rare weekends and evenings as needed.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Maintaining Banbury’s website with new meeting reports, publications, photos, other content; - Maintaining Banbury social media accounts; - Engaging with meeting invitees/participants to coordinate invitations and responses, including documentation to support international and government participants as needed; - Maintaining a database of Banbury meeting participants and stakeholders; - Purging old files of irrelevant or duplicate information; coordinating digital conversion with Library and Archives; - Coordinating post-meeting evaluation surveys; - Circulating programs to appropriate CSHL faculty/staff and coordinating CSHL participation in meetings; - Fielding requests for information about Banbury (including use of the facilities); - Managing meeting calendars; - Acting as liaison with CSHL Public Affairs
Education: Associate’s degree required.
Experience: Prior experience with social media and event planning preferred.
Skills: Must have strong communication (oral and written), computer, and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities; capacity to work independently and take initiative. Must possess the ability to exercise discretion. Knowledge or interest in science preferred
