The Harvard Graduate School of Education is seeking a Multimedia Producer with creative storytelling capabilities as well as strong video, photography, and editing and technical skills. Reporting to the Director of Editorial Strategy within the Communications Office, the Multimedia Producer will serve as a photographer and videographer to support communications and marketing priorities and that showcase the achievements of HGSE students, faculty, and alumni and the vibrancy of the HGSE campus and community.
The ideal candidate will be a journalistically minded photographer and videographer with the ability to find and tell compelling stories about teaching, learning, and research — to create video and other multimedia projects on a quick turnaround that will advance specific institutional goals and messages. The ideal candidate has a strong desire to work on a team of creative professionals and partner on compelling creative solutions. This person will be organized and proactive, have excellent attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. The ideal candidate also has a demonstrated ability to create compelling and creative content that is social media friendly.
The multimedia producer will handle all aspects of the photo and video production process: pre-production, planning, logistics, shooting, editing photo, video and audio including the creation and integration of titles and animated sequences using After Effects, and posting the final product to multiple channels online. Ideally, the multimedia producer will also be able to develop and edit audio-only assets as needed.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Develop compelling multimedia content for HGSE communications platforms that respond to strategic needs and goals.
Be able to both self-generate creative projects and work with restrictions to meet very specific client needs
Develop and edit audio-only assets as required
Development of multimedia projects for special events like HGSE Centennial celebration
Edit video, audio, still photography, and related media for presentations as needed
Contribute to efforts to make multimedia content social media-friendly
Contribute to efforts to caption multimedia assets
Flexibility and adaptability to take on new projects and assignments
Occasionally able to work a flexible schedule in order to accommodate events at night or on weekends
This is a three year term position

Experience in digital photography and software to enhance or edit still photography.Proven experience shooting video with dSLR cameras as well as prosumer video cameras; demonstration of visual creativity and storytelling ability through video.
Experience using Final Cut Pro and After Effects required. Note: Submission of web-links of previous work required in order to be considered.
Submission of a multimedia portfolio of prior work/projects will be required as part of the interview process.

Bachelor's degree in Multimedia/Visual Communications, Public Relations, Graphic Design, Marketing, or related field preferred; interactive agency experience preferred; mastery of Final Cut Pro and After Effects required; proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite applications and creation of engaging digital platforms and knowledge of Flash or HTML 5 a plus; audio editing skills; excellent customer service and communication skills; strong organizational skills and ability to work on multiple projects and complete high-quality work against strict and conflicting deadlines; excellent content judgment; information graphics experience a plus; subject knowledge of both higher education and K-12 education preferred.
