Oversee the planning, development, and communication of information to keep the public and media informed of Intercollegiate Athletics' accomplishments and programs. Reports to Deputy Director, Athletics or other designated supervisor. Develop goals and objectives for sports information operations.
Serve as the primary media contact for football and additional sports as assigned; represent Kent State University at Mid-American Conference (MAC) media events.
Design, write, and edit publications for Intercollegiate Athletics programs.
Manage sports information activities at athletic events; report results of Kent State University athletic events to media and other outlets.
Arrange interviews with student-athletes and staff.
Assist in the development of the athletic department website.
Supervise assigned administrative, professional, student, and temporary employees.
Provide guidance on all Athletic social media accounts on all platforms
Perform related duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, or relevant field. Three years of experience in collegiate sports information or relevant field. Experience in football sports information coverage or related experience.
