The College of Liberal Arts is seeking a Director within the School of Public Policy. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE), 12-month, Tenure Administrator, professional faculty position.
The College of Liberal Arts (CLA) at Oregon State University (OSU) seeks an inspiring, collaborative, and experienced leader to serve as the Director of the School of Public Policy (SPP). The Director leads over 40 engaged faculty who are innovative teachers, outstanding scholars, and willing mentors and peers. The Director supervises the School's academic programs and serves as chief administrative officer and advocate for the school as a whole.

SPP offers resident and online undergraduate programs in Economics, Political Science, Public Policy and Sociology. Graduate programs include the resident and online Master of Public Policy (MPP), a new online Executive MPP, and the PhD in Public Policy with concentrations in crime and law, energy, environmental, international, rural, and social policy. The MPP is accredited by the Network of Schools of Public Policy (NASPAA) and is also included in the U.S. News and World Report's top public affairs programs. The PhD in Public Policy program continually attracts diverse and meritorious students in addition to Fulbright Scholars from around the world. The PhD program has a 100 percent placement rate in academia and government.
OSU offers more than 50 degree programs through its growing Ecampus, which is ranked third in the nation for best online Bachelor’s programs in the 2019 edition of U.S. News and World Report. SPP's online MPP is ranked in the top 10 by Best Colleges, and its political science program is the sixth ranked online Bachelor's program in Political Science in 2019 according to Best Colleges.

Doctoral degree one of the disciplines represented within the School, or in a closely related field
Distinguished record of professional accomplishment that merits a tenured appointment at the rank of associate or full professor in the School of Public Policy
Successful higher education leadership experience facilitating a shared vision and strategic goal-setting and program evaluation and assessment
Demonstrated ability in collaborative decision making in an interdisciplinary setting
Experience successfully managing administrative matters, including personnel issues, policies, and other resource needs
Demonstrated experience with finances and understanding the relationship between academic priorities and budget
A record of actively advancing:
Diversity of people and perspectives
Structural/institutional access and equity
Just and inclusive community and practices
Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and advising at the undergraduate and graduate level
Proficiency in written English and excellent public speaking ability
