OVERVIEW: St. Anne’s School is seeking a full-time Communications Coordinator with a range of communications, marketing, digital, social media, photography/videography, and graphics skills to join its staff. Reporting to the Office of Enrollment Management and Strategy, the Communications Coordinator will assume responsibility for a wide array of design, print, and electronic communications activities that promote and advance the mission of the school, defining and articulating its identity and unique characteristics to key constituencies.
The Communications Coordinator is a highly collaborative position and works closely with the Assistant Head of School for Enrollment and Strategy on a variety of projects, including admissions and development materials that expand our digital reach while reducing reliance on print communications.
We are looking for a strategic and visionary thinker, a creative communicator, and a hands-on doer, who is also capable of collaborating with staff and faculty, external vendors, and volunteers.
Implements plans for school marketing, communications, publications, and social media, incorporating consistent themes that support the initiatives and priorities established by the school’s strategic plan.
Conceptualizes and delivers targeted messages about the school, its mission, and its contributions to the community.
Maintains clear and consistent communication with key stakeholders (current parents, prospective parents, donors, alumni) to articulate value and school mission/vision, and also manages communication vehicles that assure parents, alumni and other stakeholders receive timely and up-to-date information.
Creates content and oversees both the visual and editorial direction of the school’s website, internal communications, and presence on the school’s social media channels which conveys St. Anne’s School’s character and how constituents embody its core values.
Writes for electronic, print, and verbal communications.
Manages production of admissions and development materials, school publications, event invitations and interacts with external vendors as needed.
Manages media relations, including writing press releases and cultivating relations with local, regional and trade media.
Strategically manages and updates the school website.
Lead efforts to build and maintain the school’s internal website.
Attends school events, classroom activities, and presentations to take photographs and videos, documenting our program and community. Edits photos for placement in online galleries, newsletters, and publications; edits raw footage and interviews for use in videos.
Produces short videos to include on the website and social media.
Implements social media strategy and editorial calendar to engage key stakeholders and promote key message about the school. Maintains and expands social media initiatives, providing counsel in best practices and current trends.
Promotes consistent branding, marketing, and communications standards across the organization.
Manages indoor and outdoor school signage.
Serves as liaison to Parents Association, assisting with communications and events.
2-5 years of work experience in marketing, public relations, communications, web/social media, journalism or marketing.
Bachelor’s degree (Communications, Journalism, Marketing or Business Administration preferred).
Solid understanding of communications and marketing tools.
Experience maximizing social media to engage stakeholders.
Experience developing publications, both print and electronic.
Experience developing media relations strategies.
Familiarity with independent schools and the Annapolis market.

Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).
Superior research, editing, and writing skills.
Experience with both PC and Mac.
Knowledge of web content management systems. Knowledge of Drupal a plus.
Knowledge of email marketing systems.
Strong social media skills.
Confidence and ease with database environments.
Photography and videography skills preferred. Experience in video/audio editing a plus.
Attention to detail and strong project management skills.

Able to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
