Manage operations for second year production area including schedules, operations, productions and facilities. Supervise skilled work in creation and support of student and faculty productions. Provide technical and creative oversight. Hire, train, supervise and evaluate staff; devlop and administer operating and production budgets.
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Education: Master's Degree in Fine Arts with concentrations in Technical Production or Scenic Design
Required Experience: 2+ years technical production experience, budget administration, delivering student instruction, and staff supervision.
Preferred Experience: 3+ years in academic or instructional setting. Experience handling and focusing theatrical lighting equipment; knowledge of basic sound systems.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Sound knowledge of all metal and wood construction techniques. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Ability to provide technical training to non-technical audience. Experience working with directors, designers and theatrical productions. Ability to read designs, drafting, paint elevations,schematics, construction draftings and plans. Working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet and database applications. working knowledge of Vectorworks, Photoshop, QLab and Excel.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Knowledge of scene painting techniques and experience with theatrical properties. Familiarity with professional lighting and sound design software. Experience with 3D drafting, laser printing and 3D printing.Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator.
