Indiana University Kokomo seeks qualified candidates for the full-time, benefit –eligible position of Photographer/Graphic Designer. Reporting to the Director of Media and Marketing, the incumbent must have a strong background in photography, and will be responsible for displaying IU Kokomo's vision and mission via the medium of photography. The position may require some graphic design as needed.
Primary duties include but are not limited to: photographing events, portraits, feature images, and sports to represent the campus' mission and vision; edit, file, archive photographs, and upload photographs to website and online photo album. Secondary duties include designing graphics for campus marketing materials on an as-needed basis.
Qualifications: Associate degree in photography or related field plus two years-experience working in photography. Some graphic design and web content management experience is preferred. The successful candidate must be creative and proficient with digital equipment, lenses and lighting; knowledge of studio and location lighting is required, as is in-depth knowledge of cameras, lens capabilities, lighting equipment and the demands of a broad range of subjects and situations such as portraiture, musical performances, athletic events, ceremonies and archiving principles. Familiarity and technically experienced with various forms of printing and graphic production technology is required, as is experience and skill to produce high quality results under tight deadlines. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Photoshop is preferred.
