This position assists the Dean of the College of Law in the daily execution of his/her responsibilities.
Serves as a communication link for the Dean’s Office with other executive offices, internal departments of the College and student, faculty, staff, and external constituencies for which a high level of public relations must be exhibited.
The Assistant manages the Dean’s calendar, develops and maintains an up-to-date filing system, screens and manages calls and incoming mail, efficiently manages office paperwork and response deadlines.
Primary Responsibilities :
Monitors and leads the administrative operations of the executive office.
Performs a variety of high level support tasks that are confidential and sensitive in nature.
Maintains and coordinates daily and long range schedule of the Dean exercising a high level of professional judgment in deciding between conflicting events and issues.
Provides leadership in establishing and coordinating meetings involving the Dean and administrators both internal and external to the university.
Prepares agendas and collects materials for meetings.
Prepares meeting minutes.
Receives and assists visitors in the Dean’s Office.
Routes correspondence for reply or action.
Takes a leadership approach to resolve routine and general office issues.
Establishes and maintains an efficient and up-to-date records management system including computerized records.
Coordinates travel arrangements and reimbursements.
Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of previous related experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.
Proficient in keyboarding and general office equipment.
The ability to transcribe meeting minutes, via note-taking and transcription equipment.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.
