The Center Administrator provides sophisticated, high-level support to the Director, Center faculty, students and sponsors and will be a key member of the NYU Wireless Center’s administrative team. Position will meticulously manage Center finances including preparation of annual budget, compile detailed reporting and reconciliations, authorize reallocation of funds, and approve expenditures. Responsible for overall day-to-day Center Administration. Supports high Profile Public Relations and special events (including the annual Brooklyn 5G summit and board meeting) and ad hoc projects.
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience: 3 – 5 years experience providing administrative support to senior leadership (C-suite equivalent) in a large and fast- paced environment. Previous experience supporting senior faculty in an academic research unit preferred.
Preferred Experience: Experience handling expenditures, reconciling budgets, as well as coordinating and purchasing travel, handling complex calendars for various high level personnel, and handling confidential information is preferred.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Ability to juggle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and deadlines. Meticulous attention to detail with a passion for accuracy and clarity in communication and output. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and an ability to interact with a wide variety of stakeholders. Lockbox memory and ability to exercise independent judgement and discretion. Strong computer skills, including the Microsoft Suite and other standard software.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Previous experience with either pre-award or post-award grant finances, experience with procurement software, experience with standard financial reporting tools.
