The Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship at Kent State University, Kent Campus, is interested in hiring high quality adjunct faculty to teach two, one credit-hour, online marketing laboratory courses: (1) Marketing Tools Laboratory (fall semester) and (2) Marketing Research Laboratory (spring semester).
These courses are an integral part of our hands-on, intensive Managerial Marketing undergraduate major and are linked to two of the major courses: Marketing Tools and Research for Marketing Decisions. The laboratory courses focus on the application of course material using technology tools, including financial analysis using Excel, data collection using Qualtrics, data analysis using SPSS, and presentations using PowerPoint. Materials currently exist for in-person versions of the courses, but the department is seeking to shift the courses to an online format beginning Fall 2019. Two sections of each course are scheduled for three credit-hours’ worth of online teaching each semester.
In all cases, while a PhD would be desirable, the applicant is expected to have at least an MBA or a master’s degree in a relevant, related area (e.g., Advertising, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations) and some work experience, with at least some of that experience being current (i.e., having been gained within the past three to five years).
Interested individuals should have extensive knowledge of the following software packages: Excel, PowerPoint, Qualtrics, and SPSS. Online teaching experience for these courses is considered a plus. These lab classes are scheduled for fall of 2019 and spring of 2020 and need to be staffed.
