Taylor University is seeking applications of candidates for the position of Associate Vice President for Marketing. This is a 12-month exempt position located in Upland, Indiana. Résumés will be accepted until the position is filled.

The position of Associate Vice President (AVP) for Marketing has responsibility for overall communications, research-based messaging, marketing, and branding activity for the University. The AVP for Marketing represents and promotes the University, increasing its visibility and supporting the institution’s mission, vision, and goals. They will lead the development and implementation of the University’s brand vision, strategy, and public relations to attract the best students as well as motivate alumni and donors.
Develop a comprehensive university-wide marketing, communication and branding strategy that supports the strategic goals, plans and aspirations of the University.
Create marketing, communication and branding strategies that maximize demand for the University’s programs.
Lead a team of web producers, graphic designers, project managers, marketing and editorial writers, media specialists and videographers. Provide mentorship to staff, both in terms of departmental strategy and professional development.
Responsible for evaluating and effectively employing appropriate marketing channels (digital, print, social, etc.) to achieve the University's strategic goals, including recruitment, fundraising, and alumni relations
Work closely and collaboratively with the President, the Chief of Staff, the Cabinet, and academic departments and administrative offices across the University, to develop and implement an integrated, proactive, comprehensive, marketing and communication strategy and plan that enhances the brand, enrollment, and reputation of Taylor University
Work with the Vice President for Enrollment Management & Strategic Initiatives to identify the most effective marketing strategy for growing enrollment demand at the University.
Design and own the lead generation strategies across digital marketing -- content marketing, email, and paid advertising
Partner with University Advancement to generate innovative ideas and solutions that engage donors.
Manage university-wide marketing and communication activities that successfully accomplishes the University’s brand strategy including increasing brand awareness.
Manage university-wide marketing and communication activities, especially media relations; digital communication and social media; advertising placements, including print, digital, broadcast, and other formats that will ensure a cost-effective strategy to generate the necessary numbers of engaged prospective students, while fostering relationships with donors and other targeted constituencies.
In partnership with the Chief Information Officer, coordinate digital outreach efforts, and enhancements to the Taylor website that will have a positive impact on University marketing and communication initiatives.
Manage and coordinate all writing, photography, editing and other activities that directly support the development, production and distribution of the University’s marketing and communication products, including but not limited to Taylor Magazine; press releases; and materials intended to market special events on campus (i.e. Commencement and Homecoming).
Articulate the value proposition of the University and effectively market Taylor’s stories to its internal and external audiences.
Oversee crisis and issues management planning and rapid response messaging to deal with critical events as they arise. Provide strategic counsel on reputation and issues management to senior leadership.
Oversee media relations outreach and oversee the University’s media relations strategy. Foster effective and collaborative relationships with the media. Create and leverage opportunities to drive public relations strategies and tactics.

A bachelor’s degree with a major in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, business administration, or a related field is required. A master’s degree and/or professional certification in marketing or public relations is preferred.
