The Center for International Education (CIE) is seeking a Regional Director, Asia Platform for Engagement & Communications Director. In collaboration with industry partners and campus units, the regional director will develop a focus on career development activities.

This position offers the opportunity to shape and develop UT's institutional strategy for engagement in Asia and for Asian studies on our campus. UT seeks partnerships with a variety of relevant organizations throughout the region, therefore the Regional Director would be expected to travel to the region and domestically as relevant.
This position is combined with the CIE Communications Manager position reporting to the Vice Provost for International Affairs. The Regional Director/Communications Director will work closely with the Vice Provost and the Platform Advisory Committee to develop the intellectual vision for the Platform and communications strategy for CIE, manage its daily operations, outreach activities, new business development partnerships, and academic programs. The Regional Director/Communications Manager will directly supervise one full-time administrative coordinator in the Center for International Education.
Assumes leadership role when working with staff to design and administer current programs to include conferences, lectures and faculty support programs.
Represents the institution related to the Asia platform both internally and externally.
Leads outreach efforts to develop new partnerships and program in collaboration with colleges and campus-based units, campus partners, community stakeholders and regional experts to organize activities and new programs.
Organizes visits by Asia-related political figures, diplomats and scholars.
Works with faculty to enhance the number of visiting scholars.
Develops and oversees the core Platform operating budget.
Reporting and program administration.
Guides Platform staff in day-to-day administration of the program.
Responsible for the CIE Asian Platform and budgetary process.
Create relevant and consistent marketing of services and programs for students, faculty and staff to position CIE prominently in the campus community.
Writes and edits public relations and other materials.
Works with the Office of Communications and Marketing to set a brand standard for CIE.
Defines strategic goals for communications in each unit of CIE.
Strategic communications plan for each unit in CIE.
Conducts needs assessment to determine needs of departments and develop materials/plans to meet needs.
