This position manages the Department of Chemistryâ™s communications and outreachâ”including web, social media, print materials, and collaboration with Brown offices and local schoolsâ”to promote the departmentâ™s mission, initiatives, and events. The position also manages
all aspects of the departmentâ™s seminar program, endowed lecture series, and faculty search process consisting of correspondence, travel itinerary, visit scheduling, and reimbursement process for department guests. This role works with faculty and student leaders to manage
events related to academic programming.
Bachelor'sâ‹ â‹degreeâ‹ â‹and 1 - 2 years of experience in a communications related field such as event planning, community outreach, marketing, orâ‹ â‹the equivalentâ‹ â‹combinationâ‹ â‹ofâ‹ â‹educationâ‹ â‹andâ‹ â‹experience.
Experience in an academic setting preferred
Strong customer service skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple competing priorities
Strong organizational skills
