The Donor Relations Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating donor stewardship, gift agreements, donor recognition and various special events. This position will work closely with all members of the development, alumni and communications staff as well as members of the College administration, faculty, alumni, and volunteers. Reporting to the Executive Director, Campaigns and Advancement Operations, this position is part of the College Advancement office which is an integral part of a goal-oriented, detail-focused and collaborative college environment dedicated to its alumni and students.
Duties and Responsibilities
Implement and manage a comprehensive donor stewardship program with particular focus on major, planned gifts, and loyalty society.
Provide internal coordination of all new gift agreements, including, but not limited to, endowment agreements, pledge agreements, and charitable gift annuities; interact with the business office and other areas as needed.
Maintain departmental records related to permanent endowments, planned gifts and other gift contracts.
Work with advancement information systems and gift processing staff to insure pledge reminders, special acknowledgements, and payments are sent in a timely fashion.
Determine and communicate endowment status and award activity to donors in a timely and effective manner as part of comprehensive stewardship program.
Manage and coordinate donor/prospect campus visits as needed in conjunction with development staff, president's office, and faculty.
Manage annual events such as Entrepreneurial Leadership Dinner, Waltersdorf Awards, and other events as assigned.
Work with development staff to initiate and manage various special donor cultivation and stewardship activities, as part of overall stewardship program.
Work with development and administration to coordinate recognition and activities related to capital projects.
Attend conferences and professional development workshops as appropriate.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 1-year successful experience in event management, development/ fundraising, donor services, and/or public relations.
Experience with integrating social media into overall communication plan.
Ability to work well under pressure and with multiple, sometimes inflexible deadlines.
Demonstrated skills in clear and effective communication, both written and verbal.
Well-organized; strong attention to detail; creative problem solving.
Proven administrative skills; ability to be efficient and work independently while also being able to collaborate effectively in a group setting.
Ability to develop positive working relationships with colleagues, key campus contacts, and external constituents.
Strong computer skills.
Ability to work occasional nights and weekends as required.
Previous experience in non-profit setting or higher education desirable.
The position does not require managing other employees.
