Regina High School, a private, Catholic college preparatory high school for young women, sponsored by the Sisters of St. Joseph, Third Order of St. Francis has opened a search for its next President.
The role of President is to provide a leadership role in the overall management of the school particularly regarding the Regina High School's Franciscan mission. The President oversees the educational activities, financial maters, advancement, fund raising, public relations, marketing, alumnae relations, student recruitment, spiritual welfare, physical facilities, long-range planning, etc. The Board of Directors formally evaluates the President’s performance on an annual basis and shares the results with the President.
General Administrative Responsibilities
The President reports to the Board of Directors.
The President is an ex-officio member of the Board of Directors and all Board committees.
The President informs the Board about the state of the school including the progress in achieving its mission, financial and strategic plans, etc.
The President has full authority to implement all rules, regulations and policies set by the Board of Directors.
The President issues communications for Board meetings and functions.
The President serves as legal corporative representative of the school.
The President serves as the school’s contact for the Sisters of St. Joseph of the Third Order of St. Francis.
The President determines the administrative structure of the school.
The President directs the on-going education in the mission of the school to Board members, faculty and staff, parents and students, alumnae and community.
The President hires, supervise, evaluates and dismisses the principal, business manager, advancement director, building and grounds supervisor, public relations and recruiting director and the president’s office staff.
The President after review with the principal, delegates the hiring and/or dismissal of faculty members to the principal.
The President, in cooperation with the principal, issues contracts and work assignments; the principal signs faculty contracts.
Public Relations and Marketing
The President coordinates the enrollment management plans including student recruiting, admissions and retention of students.
The President develops a long-range public relations and marketing plan which helps to make the school better known and appreciated in the community.
The President articulates the school’s philosophy, goals and objectives to the various publics in harmony with the school’s mission.
The President serves as the official spokesperson and representative of the school.
The President serves as liaison between the school and its Board of Directors, the alumnae, community groups and the general public.
Finances and Advancement
The President is responsible for the implementation of the Board of Director’s fiscal policies and obtains and administers the necessary monetary resources for the school.
The President is responsible for the financial management of the school.
The President executes any contracts, deeds, mortgages, bonds or other instruments, which the Board of Directors authorized to be executed.
The President oversees major capital improvements.
The President directs the financial and fund raising operations of the school.
The President prepares the annual school budget.
The President approves the distribution of student financial aid.
The President meets with individuals and corporations to seek funds.
The candidate for President is recommended by the Regina High School Board of Directors and with the approval of the Sisters of St. Joseph of the Third Order of St. Francis is appointed and serves as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Regina High School.
The ideal candidate-of-choice will have 15 - 20 years of professional experience with a background that includes budget management along with a proven track record of achievement in or transferable skills with respect to Development, Business or other Institutional Development. A minimum of an undergraduate degree is required, although an advanced degree is preferred.
