Reportingto the Assistant Provost, the Communications Coordinator is responsible forcoordinating messaging for web, print and other materials across Provost Teamoffices working in close collaboration with the Division of Communications. Inaddition, the position supports the development of presentation materials forthe Provost.

Duties and responsibilities
Writes content for both print and Web including the provost office website, blog, brochures, and newsletters
Assists in the implementation of communications strategies ensuring consistency in process and messaging
Manages and monitors the Office of the Provost social media and online presence
Coordinates the publishing schedule and process of MyVU stories in collaboration with Provost Team offices and the Division of Communications
Develops common set of templates and processes for web and other communications in partnership with the Division of Communications as needed and assist in implementation across Provost team offices
Makes sure that all promotional and marketing materials are consistent with Provost Office messages, style and other defined parameters
Identifies and resolve any issues with promotional content in a timely and professional manner.
Assesses and reports on the effectiveness of communication strategies
Develops presentation materials for the Provost working with partners across the Provost team and across campus to gather and synthesize content and data
Profile ofan Ideal Candidate
A Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Public Relations or Journalism or related area from an accredited institution of higher education is necessary.
A minimum of 3- 5 years' experience working in a marketing or communications position is necessary.
Experience in higher education communications is preferred.
A solid understanding of effective marketing techniques is necessary.
Excellent writing and editing skills are necessary.
Ability to lay out content in various mediums (slides, web, print, etc.) is necessary
Experience working with a content management system is necessary
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively is necessary.
Strong time-management and organizational skills are necessary.
