Provide leadership in driving capital campaigns, building relationships with board members and other museum supporters, identifying and meeting new donors to promote the mission.
Create and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to generate current and future revenue from individuals, corporations, and foundations.
Work closely with the museum board and the board liaison.
Spearhead fundraising activities for major Briscoe projects – special and permanent exhibits, educational programs, art and artifact acquisition, naming of galleries, collection care, endowments, and capital improvements.
Oversee marketing and public relations related to fundraising and membership development
Direct ongoing research of potential donors/funders
Oversee foundation and corporate proposal development
Oversee membership program and membership giving program for the museum
Oversee donor database, tracking systems, and donor acknowledgement
Manage, develop, and assess department staff
Supervisory skills for Development; Membership; Special Events; Grants; Patron Data
Minimum seven years demonstrably successful experience in fundraising, specifically with donor development, capital campaigns, and major donors. Experience in arts institution or similar cultural organization preferred.
Minimum three to five year experience managing and leading a cohesive team of five or more required.
Excellent skills in written and verbal communication, presentation, and public speaking required. Ease in communicating effectively with a wide range of audiences.
Experience in grant writing or overseeing the grant process.
Thorough understanding of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, human behavior and performance, and coordination of people and resources.
High level of comfort using electronic communications and Internet tools, including email, social media, and experience with the latest development software.
Knowledge of DonorPro preferred.
Experience with marketing and public relations.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) fluency a plus.
