This Special Events and Fundraising Managerwill be responsible for:
Managing the Eversource Walk for Boston Children's Hospital. Working closely with the Director, Special Events develops strategies aimed at generating incremental revenue and participation in the event.
Meeting with and soliciting team participation from corporations, organizations and hospital departments.
Serving as the liaison and primary contact for event participants handling all requests and inquires.
Cultivating and stewards Miracles Makers, Team Captains, corporate, hospital and family teams and volunteers.
Working with sponsorship team to hand fulfillment and stewardship of event sponsors closely with the digital and communications teams to create website and marketing materials for advertising.
Working with DMSE organizing the logistics for event day.
Working closely with Public Relations Officer to ensure effective and successful outreach in marketplace.
Managing all Walk related messaging in working with the digital and communications teams, including collateral materials, advertising, website creation and e-mail campaigns.
Managing and assists with additional peer to peer events as well as support special events team as needed.
To qualify, you must have:
The knowledge of theories, principals, and concepts typically acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five to seven years of previous experience in development in an mid volume department and "for profit" sectors, special events, and sales.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and written communication skills relating to management staff and donors.
The analytical skills necessary to resolve problems requiring a professional level of knowledge in a specific discipline/field and/or improve, enhance or upgrade complex financial, data processing, and marketing systems and programs.
Effectively dealing with conflicting views or issues and mediating fair and workable solutions.
Consistent attention to detail, high level of productivity, solution oriented performer who can be responsive to both staff and donor issues.
Strong technical skills in generic software programs (Excel, Access) and information systems and the ability to develop proficiency in specific data base management systems.
