The Advancement Officer works closely with the Director of Advancement to facilitate meaningful engagement with the school's donors and key stakeholders. They contribute to the School's fundraising goals by assisting with cultivation, solicitation and stewardship strategies, with a strong emphasis on written communication strategies. They liaise often with the Dean's office to facilitate donor engagement, and broadly manage the engagement of Beedie's donors, prospects, and key stakeholders.
Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline, with a preference for Arts, Business Administration, or Communications.
Three years of related experience, including experience in planning, program management, event management, communications, and public relations, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Excellent interpersonal skills and leadership skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical reasoning, problem solving, and organizational skills, with accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to communicate effectively with donors, prospects and key stakeholders.
Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with university administrators, faculty, staff, students and alumni.
Ability to work independently and demonstrate a high level of initiative while being in a dynamic team environment where flexibility and multi-tasking are essential.
Good knowledge of university policies and procedures, and Freedom of Information/Protection of Privacy Act regulations.
