Responsible for planning, organizing, managing and executing marketing projects from beginning to end. The project scope can vary from single pieces of collateral to multifaceted, multichannel marketing campaigns which may include events. Reporting to and working under the direction of the Director of Marketing Projects, the SMC Project Manager will also work closely with the Marketing Strategists. The SMC Project Manager is responsible for collecting and verifying project information, making recommendations based on the client's marketing objectives, and is the primary point person for the client and project team. Responsible for managing scope and changes, ensuring that the project team remains on track and within budget, etc. Coordinates marketing and communication activities assigned. Other duties as assigned.
Bachelors in marketing, English, communications, business, Advertising, public relations or related field required, or an equivalent combination of education and job-related experience.
Minimum 3-5 years' experience in project management. Preferably in a marketing environment.
Proven ability to plan, prioritize multiple projects, and complete them in a timely manner.
Understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
Strong writing and editing skills, including the proven ability to prepare and proofread clear, concise and grammatically correct business correspondence and other documents.
Extraordinary skills in organizing and planning, problem analysis and problem solving.
Strong interpersonal skills with a diverse group of individuals at all organizational levels, both inside and outside the university.
Strong technical skills to learn enterprise system, software and tools.
Ability to demonstrate tact and diplomacy and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Ability to use standard office equipment. Strong commitment to customer service and teamwork.
Knowledge of marketing principles and concepts.
Ability to follow policies and procedures for Chapman University and the department; able to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
Ability to learn and be a strong formal/group presentations; persuasive, adaptable, stress tolerant
Experience in media selection and negotiation.
Experience with web/internet marketing and advertising.
