ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF ADMISSIONS, CREATIVE MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS , Admissions Office/Student Financial Services (SFS) , to be responsible for curating and creating engaging content for print, web, video, and other media in support of the Offices of Admissions and Student Financial Services. Will create content for a variety of media that showcases the authentic, compelling, and unique voices of MIT students. Duties include the development of outreach materials for both offices, collaborating with other MIT departments and student groups to identify compelling stories and materials for outreach, and serving as a member of the Admissions/SFS communications team. Will also serve as an admissions officer with a partial admissions caseload, reviewing and selecting undergraduate applicants and conducting information sessions. Will report to the associate director of communications.
REQUIRED : bachelor's degree; at least two years' communications experience; experience writing and creating content for a variety of media; excellent organizational and written and oral communication skills; ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced, professional environment; a desire to collaborate with the communications team, current undergraduates, and internal and external partners; and an interest in working with diverse populations. Seeking someone with a strong grasp of contemporary youth culture and a desire for learning and sharing MIT's specific and vibrant student culture. Knowledge of and demonstrated practice in design (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), as is experience in higher education, admissions, or student financial services a plus. Proficiency using filmmaking and editing software (Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects) and still photography experience also desirable. Job #17369-7
