The Marketing and Special Events Associate Manager will be responsible for helping create the strategic deployment of creative content for the school’s social media platforms and website, support printed and digital publications, and will organize and coordinate special events for the school in order to engage with current and prospective families.
This person must be able to anticipate project needs, discern work priorities, and meet deadlines with little supervision, and be willing to work occasional evenings and weekends. Timely and friendly outreach to internal and external constituents is key to this position, as is excellent customer service skills, and this job will require the ability to multi-task, forecast budgets, event needs, story ideas and marketing needs, and actively contribute to public relations strategies.

Create and post timely content to school’s social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, SmugMug), official website (sasaustin.org) and intranet
Maintain brand consistency across platforms
Monitor social media comments and respond in a timely, appropriate way
Create and execute social media campaigns for special events and initiatives and stay abreast of new technologies and opportunities for St. Andrew’s to digitally communicate
Identify appropriate contributor content for sharing
Take photos/videos of campus activities and special events for print/digital marketing and advertising
Manage photography archiving and sharing; coordinate with volunteer and professional photographers
Contribute stories to the monthly school e-newsletter; coordinate mass email delivery
Collaborate on promotional strategies for school programs and special events
Collaborate on advertising strategy for Admissions and Summer Camp programs
Help deploy new platforms or processes as needed
Event Planning and Production
Assist with negotiations for space contracts and book event space, arrange food and beverage, order supplies and audiovisual equipment, make travel arrangements, order event signs, and ensure appropriate décor (florals, linens, color schemes, etc.) to meet quality expectations in alignment with parent volunteers
Conduct research, make site visits, and find resources to help staff make decisions about event possibilities.
Propose new ideas to improve the event planning and implementation process as needed
Serve as liaison with vendors on relevant event-related matters
Assist with managing on-site production and clean-up for events as necessary
Prepare nametags, materials, notebooks, packages, gift bags, registration lists, seating cards, etc.
Close out all events as required.
Assist with preparing budgets and provide periodic progress reports to staff directors for each event project.
Prepare and modify event contracts as requested
Meet with the Business Office quarterly to ensure check requests and receipts are properly accounted for, forecasted, booked, and documented
Keep track of event finances including check requests, invoicing, and reporting
Coordinate scheduling of events on the calendar
Excellent communication skills, including writing, proof reading skills, and speaking
Digital photography and videography
Writing and editing for various audiences and platforms, including social media
Familiarity with AP style guide
Some design experience preferred (Adobe Creative Suite)
Content management system experience preferred
Ability to manage multiple projects and work assignments from a variety of staff and volunteers
Excellent interpersonal skills both in person and by phone, with high professionalism
Ability to accomplish projects with little supervision
Fantastic customer service ethic and high expectations for quality
Proficient using the latest versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and mail merges; email and web searches
Degree in advertising, communications, digital media, English, marketing, or related field
