This position provides administrative support and event-planning coordination for the MPA Program. Specific duties include taking the lead role in event planning, providing support for courses and academic programming, and any additional secretarial/administrative duties as assigned, based on department need. This position will assist the Program with initiating department financial business processes. In coordination with the Program Manager the incumbent will also administer the Program which involves, but is not limited to, assisting with organizational tasks associated with MPA admissions, providing support for student services, and administrative support of travel and program funds for students. This position provides effective support to a wide range of individuals, such as the faculty Director of the MPA, Associate Director of the MPA, students, faculty with demanding priorities, distinguished visitors, and prospective students seeking information about our programs. In addition, the incumbent serves as the front desk receptionist and main point of contact for building maintenance of 280 Brook Street. The ideal candidate will be customer service-oriented, able to work independently, resourceful, proactive, work with deadlines, and self-motivated.
High School diploma and 3-5 years of administrative experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Proficient with standard office application software, word processing, spreadsheet, database.
Professional communication (written and verbal) skills required
Ability to work independently and handle competing priorities
Strong time-management skills
