Summary: We are looking for a creative,self-starter to join the Cook Children's PR department as atemporary Public Relations Coordinator. This position will supportthe entire PR department. As an important part of our team, youwill need to utilize your writing, editing, social media and mediarelations skills to enhance the brand, image and reputation of Cook Children'sHealth Care System. He or she should be able to embrace a challenging butrewarding work day. No two days will be the same and you will stay busy in ademanding but inspiring work environment. In this role, you will be responsiblefor managing multiple projects simultaneously. The coordinator will help increating social media content, monitoring social media posts, writing pressreleases and articles for our online newsroom. You will also be involved inresponding to public comments/reviews that impact our reputation, interactingwith DFW news media outlets during events, along with a host of other duties asthey are assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, PublicRelations, English or related major and 1-2 years of professional experience.
The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, extremely dynamicenvironment and have the ability to appropriately prioritize responsibilities.
Excellent writing and grammar skills and professionalpresence on the phone, in writing and in person. AP style proficient.
Be an agile multitasker with a positive attitude, blend inwell with a small team.
Have strong social media and communication skills.
Should be organized, display customer focus and meet tightdeadlines.
Candidate should be enthusiastic, hard-working, articulate,poised and professional.
Ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environmentwhile managing multiple projects.
Knowledge of media relations monitoring and managementplatforms (preferably Meltwater, Critical Mention and Review Trackers).
Ability to work efficiently and effectively with a widevariety of internal and external partners, including physicians, health careproviders, staff, media members, patient families, patients and visitors toCook Children's.
