The American Urogynecologic Society (AUGS) seeks a highly motivated, well-organized individual for the position of Manager, Clinical Practice. This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of health policy efforts in the areas of quality and reimbursement. He/she reports to Manager of Research and Quality Programs and works with a tight-knit group of staff, volunteers and assigned independent consultants. Physician Reimbursement - Track and research regulatory and payment issues affecting AUGS members and work with/support AUGS’ various committees and health policy consultant on technical issues, special projects, and responses to Federal regulations on physician payment and the Quality Payment Program - Assist with the development and implementation of an alternative payment model for the subspecialty - Serve as the staff liaison to the Coding and Reimbursement Committee and the Payment Reform Committee - Communicate and manage coding questions and government regulation changes to membership.
Quality Improvement - Oversight of the day-to-day operations of the AUGS Quality Improvement Registry (AQUIRE), to include: - Coordination of business and contractual relationships between the Society, registry participants, software vendor and industry (who are authorized to license software). - Assist in data definition, data collection and report generation. - Coordinate development and production of documents, informational materials, educational initiatives, web sites, listservs, related to AQUIRE. - Serve as the main staff contact for member inquiries
Quality Measure Development and Maintenance - Communicate, monitor and provide updates to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the National Quality Forum (NQF) and partner organization - Work with the Quality Committee to review existing measures and develop new measures through the National Quality Forum and the CMS Measures Under Consideration process - Support measure specification, coding, and testing by clinical leads when deemed necessary - Serve as the main staff contact for the Society’s QCDR vendor partner to promote the QCDR, field member inquiries about the QCDR, ensure updates are deployed and coordinate interactions between the clinical team and the vendor
Manage the Pelvic Floor Disorders Research Foundation’s Grant Programs - Ensure grant programs are advertised and promoted, encouraging applications - Enforce application processes, review applications for completeness/accuracy and advise applicants as needed - Manage contracts and associated reports and payments - Coordinate the logistics of the Foundation’s annual grant review process - Track researchers, identify connections, seek success stories, look for communications pieces to demonstrate the foundation’s impact
Serve as the staff liaison to appropriate committees providing basic administrative function, as well as serving as communication link between the committees and the Board of Directors.
Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years work experience preferably in health care required. Experience with databases and registries desired; with an interest in socio-medical economics, quality improvement, and physician reimbursement. Should possess education and experience in data management, statistical analysis and research methodology, commensurate with the responsibilities of the position. Resourcefulness, self-starting, excellent organizational, analytical and PC skills required. Must be proficient in higher-level desktop and internet software functions. Requires excellent oral and written communication skills, superior interpersonal skills. Creativity, enthusiasm and a team focus, coupled with autonomy and self-confidence necessary. Attention to detail and follow-through essential. Needs demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and successfully multi-task competing priorities. Working knowledge of scientific, medical, and/or coding terminology a plus. Some travel required.
