Posting Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 commensurate with experience.
Position Summary: Working closely with External Relations and Communications division colleagues, the Communications Coordinator supports teams that focus on integrating marketing and branding objectives. Reporting to the Director of Business Operations, the position works with department directors in developing and executing marketing and branding strategies and tactics. Coordinating with governmental relations, UC campus teams and other Office of the President units, this position focuses on advancing efforts that are aligned with broad public outreach and awareness, as well as advocacy. Project areas include marquee marketing efforts, systemwide photo shoots, market research, advertising, and grassroots outreach. Examples of projects include supporting high visibility cross-campus brand-building efforts, project management of paid outreach campaigns, and day-to-day project and vendor management of print and digital collateral.

Duty 1: Project manager for identified projects supporting marketing communications, constituent relations, federal and state governmental relations and other departments as needed. Prioritize and respond to project requests and opportunities per leadership direction and broader organizational goals. Work directly with UCOP partners/colleagues as well as marketing teams - strategy, content creation, distribution - to manage project scope, direction, content and messaging. Manage project based on identified objectives and timelines. Ensure that all vehicles adhere to established timetables, brand messaging and visual guidelines, content expectations and budgets. Coordinate across multiple stakeholders to produce projects such as cross-campus video and photography shoots. Establish, collect and evaluate metrics to determine success/report outcomes of efforts. Manage communications programs, including written, visual, digital, and video efforts. Working with Marketing Communications leadership, plan, develop, and implement short- and long-term communications tactics to reach target audiences. Project-manage paid media, owned content and events across print, digital and social. Consult with stakeholders across campuses and UCOP to successfully execute projects. Project manage initiatives to reach goals; develop reports on performance of projects. Assist in defining, monitoring and reporting metrics and analytics. Support directors in coordinating, partnering and achieving support with key campus staff, Office of the President colleagues and others. Duty 2: Under supervision of the Director of Business Operations, generate production schedules and project timelines; create print specifications for vendors and request estimates; negotiates and manages vendor relations. Coordinate and supervise production of vehicles using outside vendors (including printers, writers, designers, photographers and web development services) as needed. Work with content creators to ensure that all content is accurate, informative, strategic and on-brand. Coordinate with clients to discuss requirements, due dates and deliverables. Enforce internal process for workflow that includes design review, content review, production, proofreading, client review and approvals. Traffics projects to vendors, ensuring files are compliant with production specs; manages delivery, fulfillment, mailing and distribution instructions. Function:Production Percent: 30

Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing or related area, and 3-5 years related experience.
Excellent writing ability; ability to clearly and persuasively convey marketing and brand ideas in writing. Thorough knowledge of grammar, syntax, style and punctuation.
Experience with planning marketing or communications strategies, including surveying competitive landscape, creating communications work plans, leading project teams to meet deadlines and effectively managing client relations to support timely decision-making.
Knowledge of paid media planning, marketing measurement, social media strategies, grassroots strategies and integrated content marketing on owned channels.
Demonstrated experience working with web developers, designers and other creative professionals to execute projects on time/budget.
Strong research and analytical skills, including the ability to develop, assess and synthesize information from a variety of sources in order to develop strategically appropriate communications.
Familiarity with web analytics and other metrics and the ability to clearly report results.
Knowledge of print production and promotional product production a must. Excellent interpersonal and vendor relationship skills to develop collaborative, productive and cost-efficient partnership.
Strong organizational skills, including the ability to set and meet realistic project timelines.
Proven initiative to follow through and complete assignments independently, and work cooperatively and productively within a team environment. Ability to perform precise, error-free work. Required
Knowledge of public education/higher education a plus.
