Purpose This position encompasses three key functions in the Executive Education operation: Target/Key account and Distinguished Leader Certificate candidate management to meet the growth goals of the open enrollment portfolio, portfolio management for assigned programs, and responding to incoming inquiries.
The successful individual will cultivate a set of corporate and individual accounts with responsibility for setting and achieving growth goals, by determining client needs, generating solution ideas to meet those needs, and following up to ensure success.
The candidate must understand the competitive landscape for programs and know the positioning statement, program content, market, and competition for the OE product line and possess the ability to explain the Michigan value proposition and provide competitive analysis. Through establishing effective working relationships with faculty to increase faculty satisfaction, the selected candidate may also develop new semi-custom program business as a writer/Response Team member and establish and maintain contact/relationships with participants to increase program awareness, repeat visits, and referrals. This position will work primarily in- house, however, some travel will be required.

Open Enrollment Account and Ross Certificate Candidate Management
Manage selected corporate accounts in an effort to enhance the relationship and grow the business.
Manage and oversight of assigned Ross Certificate candidates and Open Enrollment program accounts.
Enhance, maintain and grow the program enrollments.
Conduct informal needs analysis.
Serve as management education / professional development consultant to domestic and international managers and executives.
Advise and collaborate with Ross Marketing and Communications to effectively market the programs.
Ensure enrollment targets are met.
Create and execute business development plans for accounts.
Serve as management education / professional development consultant to decision-makers and individuals within those accounts.
Identify and develop opportunities for semi-custom programs and other executive education services such as coaching, speakers’ bureau, and corporate university support.
Create and deliver presentations.
Portfolio Management for Assigned Programs
Attend/observe assigned and other programs to build relationships that:
lead to future business opportunities
develop relationships with faculty and staff
improve understanding of the program experience and the value gained by participants to better describe it in marketing and personal communications.
Work closely with marketing leaders (internal and external experts) to develop comprehensive, multi-faceted marketing plans for each program offering; analyze and measure results of the marketing efforts; adjust marketing efforts according to previous results.
Attend programs and events for networking activities; speak/present at events.
Work with program managers and faculty directors to create program pro-formas and to ensure program expenses are on budget and margin targets are met.
Participate in other activities designed to garner interest in, and attendance at, our open enrollment events.
Special Assignments / Projects
Serve on special assignment teams and/or projects as required in support of Executive Education’s strategic priorities.
A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
At least 5 years’ progressive experience in related positions in a complex matrix organization or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Candidates will possess the analytical ability to assess the environment and the competition, anticipate future business needs, and develop creative ideas regarding possible responses.
Demonstrated experience working with/communicating with senior executive/management levels in large- and medium-sized organizations.
Demonstrated ability to network and effectively build relationships at multiple levels inside and outside the organization.
Superb public speaking and presentation skills are necessary
Must have excellent interpersonal skills, be able to take initiative, and be resourceful in an environment of constrained resources.
Superior organizational and customer service orientation is critical.
Successful demonstration of initiative, team orientation and leadership skills including the ability to manage and meet inflexible deadlines.
Excellent communication skills, diplomacy, discretion, and presentation skills
Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point) and database applications, i.e., PeopleSoft (or comparable system) is expected.
Demonstrated ability in facilitation skills; previous success in meeting sales targets.
MBA is preferred.
Knowledge of University policies, procedures and regulations is desirable
Previous experience in higher education
Previous experience in the development of Executive Education programs is highly preferred.
Physical Demands/Work Environment
The person in this position will routinely travel to various locations to conduct work and deliver materials weighing under 10 lbs
The person in this position routinely communicates with faculty, staff, and constituents about programs, events, activities, etc.
The person in this position occasionally moves through the building to attend meetings/events and access files or information. Will require work during early mornings, nights, and/or weekends.
The person in this position travels domestically on a regular basis, i.e. at least monthly, and internationally as required.
