The Senior Strategic Communications Advisor will work closely with the Chief Communications Officer (CCO) to support and advise the School on a range of high-level communications-related projects for both internal and external audiences, in the context of big-picture thinking about the Harvard T.H. Chan School's role as a leader in public health. These projects will include strategic communications, speeches, briefing papers, op-eds, social media posts, and other projects to be determined.
The Senior Strategic Communications Advisor will manage the development of messages that will advance the goals of the Office of Communications and the senior leadership at the School. This position will coordinate and enhance communications with internal and external audiences, including donors and potential donors, media, and the public health community as directed by the CCO.
The Senior Strategic Communications Advisor will also identify and implement strategies designed to enhance and expand the public voice of Harvard T.H. Chan School faculty and students in line with the leadership's larger vision and goals for the School. This may include creating and leading seminars and workshops, gathering information and soliciting ideas from key constituencies both within and beyond the School, creating online and print resources, drafting talking points, one-on-one editorial work, social media posts, and other projects to be determined. This role will work closely with the CCO and Communications team on crisis communications as needed.
The Senior Strategic Communications Advisor will serve as a trusted advisor to the CCO and the senior leadership team.
PLEASE NOTE: Occasional travel is required, as well as being regularly available during off hours.

Bachelors degree required
8+ years of related experience, in social media, editorial, major speeches, briefing papers, op-eds, and other high stakes communications projects, required
Familiarity with social media management tools required
Master's degree preferred
Experience in both higher education and public health settings preferred
Experience displaying a strong commitment to educational and public health missions preferred
Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communications preferred.
Experience managing, juggling and prioritizing multiple time-sensitive projects efficiently and with attention to detail preferred
Experience working both as a member of a team and independently preferred
