Job Title Community Engagement Manager (S13278) Job Description Summary Montgomery College, Office of Advancement & Community Engagement, has need for a full-time, Community Engagement Manager #S13278. This is a non-bargaining, exempt, Grade 27 position. Work schedule is Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm including frequent evenings and weekends and traveling between the three campuses, Workforce Development Training Centers, and the College's Community Engagement Centers.
Under supervision and/or direction, the incumbent is responsible for staff supervision, center operations and outreach events coordination. The purpose of the community engagement effort is to connect the College and the community for the purpose of increased access through grass roots outreach, engagement centers, partnerships and community events. The incumbent is responsible for implementing a community engagement plan to promote College programs and events, and manage partnerships with community organizations. Contacts include College staff, students, (credit, non-credit, and prospective), community organization representatives and the public.

Duties include but are not limited to:
Conduct recruitment/interviewing and recommend the hiring of employees.
Conduct formal and informal coaching and supervision. Recommend disciplinary action.
Evaluate the training needs of staff and coordinate and/or conduct in-house training.
Manage the staff schedule to ensure coverage at community engagement centers (including pop-up centers) and community outreach activities.
Implement community engagement plan to connect the College to the community. The plan includes disseminating information, setting up center programming (classes, workshops, advising) co-sponsoring community events and grass roots outreach.
Implement communication plan to promote College programs and events.
Build and maintain internal and external relationships to facilitate interactions with the College, e.g., student enrollment.
Work in partnership and coordinate service delivery with partner organization representatives.
Research and retain knowledge of College and community programs, resources and events to disseminate information to others.
Collect center performance and outreach activities data for metrics reporting. Prepare reports for grants and College leadership.
Prepare budget calculations and ensure expenditures are billed in accordance to contract and scope of work.
Manage scholarship program process including advertising, renewing applications, processing payments, and reporting
Coordinates outreach activities in the community.
Minimum of two years of team leadership and management, community organizing and customer service experience. One year of staff supervision. A combination of appropriate-level education, training, and experience providing ability to perform the work is acceptable.
Knowledge of customer services techniques, relationship building, marketing, public relations, and team leadership and management.
Skill in verbal and written communications, interpersonal relations, public speaking and prioritization of assignments.
Proficient use of a personal computer and Microsoft Office Suite applications, specifically MS Outlook, Teams, MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, social media, and the Internet.
Ability to train, coach and supervise staff; to prioritize and delegate assigned tasks; to work independently; to lead and manage a team; to reason and exercise judgment and discretion.
