Assist in implementing and evaluating a strategic communication plan for the Office of University Advancement. Reporting to the Director of Advancement Communications, this position will manage marketing communications for the Advancement division – both print and electronic, including creating original content for web and print publications, web updates, special events, email campaigns, and other strategic marketing efforts. This position will work closely with members of the Advancement team.
Must have a bachelor's degree in English, journalism, marketing, public relations, communications or related field and demonstrated experience producing communication materials or equivalent education, training and work experience. The successful candidate must be self-motivated, business minded, team oriented and have an ability to work independently and in a team setting. Must indicate exemplary editing and proofreading skills with a demonstrated ability to research, write and edit original content for print, online, multimedia and social media. Must be able to manage multiple activities in a deadline-oriented environment; be highly organized and have attention to detail. Must be flexible and adaptable to work within a fast-paced environment with changing priorities. Proficient in the use of computer applications, including but not limited to Microsoft Office products, Adobe Creative Suite, HTML/web design and an ability to learn new software quickly. Knowledge of communication planning and demonstrated project leadership experience. Ability to analyze statistics and offer insight into statistical trending of programs/projects. Knowledge or experience with Content Management System (CMS) software.
Experience in fundraising communications and a variety of creative communications, direct mail programs, email management, web content management and project management. Ability to work with a diverse division in order to reach common goals and objectives. Experience in higher education marketing and/or alumni engagement initiatives.
