Provides support and guidance to sorority/fraternity chapters and governing councils in program and leadership development programs for community/chapter officers. Assists Department in fostering partnerships with internal/external supporters, providing harm and safety reduction education, supporting accountability processes for the OSFL community, and managing data and records of engaged students.
ADVISING & COACHING: Serve as primary advisor for one or more sorority/fraternity governing councils; Assist with the recruitment and selection process of council officers; Coordinate and support chapter membership recruitment and intake process; Empower leaders and advocate for students; Attend organization meetings, council meetings, and/or various programs on campus to strengthen connection with students; Meet individually and in groups with council and chapter leadership, serving as coach to individual chapters; Establish and maintain good working relationships and collaborations with chapter advisors, (inter)national headquarters, and supporters.
COMMUNICATION, OUTREACH, & PARTNERSHIPS: Serve as resource for students, parents/families, faculty, staff, and community and headquarters partners on issues related to sorority and fraternity life; Assist in the facilitation of community public relations including but not limited to website updates, reports, publications, and media releases; Support accountability processes and outcomes; Advocate for resources and development of the field area of sorority and fraternity life.
EDUCATION & PROGRAMMING: Support office programs designed to develop members, leaders, advisors, and supporters through programs and messages for leadership, prevention, and health and safety initiatives, multicultural competency, and organizational responsibilities.
ASSESSMENT & ADMINISTRATION: Attend regional and national conferences with students; Assist in the oversight and management of sorority and fraternity facilities; Assist in the evaluation of department programs for effectiveness; Manage and maintain roster and grade report records for chapters; Assist in assessing effectiveness of department programs and services.
SUPERVISION & TALENT DEVELOPMENT: Select, train, and supervise at least one graduate assistant; Assist in the recruitment, training, and support of student leaders and staff; Attend and assist with coordinating professional staff meetings, individual staff meetings, staff evaluations and feedback, professional development plans, and assist with Division of Student Life and Dean of Students staff initiatives when necessary.
