The School of Journalism and Mass Communications currently enrolls approximately 1,700 undergraduates and 60 graduate students in journalism, advertising, public relations, visual communications and mass communications. The school moved to its new 55,000-square-foot facility in Fall 2015. The SJMC offers bachelor's and master's degrees in journalism and mass communication and a Ph.D. in mass communication, and has enjoyed consistent and sustained growth in its accomplishments in academic and professional areas.
The College of Information and Communications is home to two nationally recognized flagship schools providing outstanding education, research and service. As such, it is one of only a few universities to combine its communications and information science programs, two rapidly evolving – and converging – fields united by a shared belief that information accessibility and integrity is the cornerstone of a strong democracy. The College has approximately 1,700 undergraduates, 400 graduates, and over 100 faculty and staff members. New assets available to faculty and students in both schools include a social media insights lab and funding for a new research lab—both are designed to study issues related to data, media and their impact on society.

This position plans, coordinates and performs administrative support for the School of Journalism and Mass Communications.
Advertised Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree and 2 years of work experience that is directly related to the area of employment, or high school diploma and 6 years work experience that is directly related to the area of employment; or equivalency.
