COMMUNICATIONS ADMINISTRATOR , Institute for Medical Engineering and Science (IMES) , to contribute to communications strategies and implement communications and marketing activities that engage diverse constituencies, including faculty, strategic partners, industry, current/prospective donors, alumni, students, and the media. Will research, develop, write, and edit creative and original content and collateral for print communications; develop content for digital communications, e.g., websites, social media, and email; write letter templates, fund-raising appeals, and other donor-related and stewardship materials; support student admissions efforts for the Harvard-MIT Program in Health Sciences and Technology (HST) and other IMES educational activities through website content development, presentations, and print collateral; create print/digital communications to advertise programs/events; act as primary support for web and social media presence for IMES and HST; compile data and metrics; coordinate with other MIT communications staff and resources; serve as the primary contact for contacts in the local/national/international media, the MIT News Office, the School of Engineering, and other media outlets at MIT; manage and update audio/visual archives, including documenting departmental activities and news; organize and record historical department documents, images, video, etc.; and perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED : bachelor's degree in English, communications, or related field; at least three years' communications/marketing/related experience; excellent organizational, research, writing, and editing skills; experience in print and digital communication; meticulous attention to detail; ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in an evolving and deadline driven environment, maintain confidentiality, work independently and as part of a dynamic team, and build productive relationships with diverse constituencies across multiple units; and proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and Microsoft Office.
