Essential Functions: Oversee day to day operations of student services provided by the college. Serve as a liaison between advisers, Office of the Provost, Ombudsperson's office, and the College for student issues. Make referrals, assist students, staff, faculty, and CLAS deans as needed.Process undergraduate degree and certification applications. Compile commencement lists from Degree Works software. Use Degree Works to generate database of applicants and graduates. Assist associate deans with data requests relevant to graduation.Interview undergraduate students seeking waivers and exceptions. Notify students of final disposition of cases.Adhere to confidentiality and data usage policy for the university. Assist with college probation and student success initiatives.Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Academic Services Officer I -Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university in public relations, marketing, communications, liberal arts, science, education, business administration or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Academic Services Officer II - Master's Degree from an accredited college/university in public relations, marketing, communications, liberal arts, science, , education, business administration or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.A valid driver's license.Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving ability. Excellent written and oral communications skills.Reasonable knowledge and understanding of university policies and procedures. Basic familiarity with word processing, spreadsheet and database software tools.Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and professionally both orally and in writing. Strong interpersonal skills are a must.Ability to evaluate, interpret, and present complex information effectively in professionally prepared documents or presentations. Must possess a demonstrated attention to detail to achieve a high degree of accuracy.Proficient in the use of administrative systems software, preferably in the higher education environment. Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint.Independent and innovative self-starter who displays an ability to learn quickly and easily adapts to changing situations. Experience researching topics to gain knowledge and understanding when information gaps exist.Demonstrate strong leadership skills that can influence and motivate individuals and groups to achieve results.
