EASTTENNESSEESTATEUNIVERSITY, DEPARTMENT OF MEDIAANDCOMMUNICATION, invites applications for a lecturer position specializing in media production. Candidate will contribute to department graduate and undergraduate programs, and teach courses including broadcast studio production, film, and media production. The Department of Media and Communication offers an integrated, cross platform curriculum including undergraduate and graduate courses with the goal of producing graduates with a broad knowledge of the media and its wide variety of professions. Community engagement, particularly through service learning in the classroom, is emphasized in the department. We are a fast growing, professionally-focused department with concentrations in advertising/public relations, journalism, and radio/television/film. Our graduate program in Brand and Media Strategy is the fastest growing program on campus. This candidate will innovate by supporting our newly developed graduate certificate in film production. Curriculum is bridged through interdisciplinary collaborations with multiple campus units. Our department is the first in the country to embed the Adobe Experience Cloud media content solutions in curriculum. Our Adobe alliance creates strong partnerships with industry for students and faculty. We are looking for a colleague who is interested in joining a team focused on innovation for students by teaching students to produce content that connects with digital audiences. MCOM supports three digital Mac editing labs and offers students a fully stocked equipment room with gear from top manufactures including Sony, Panasonic, Lowell, and Arri among others. We offer students access to Adobe Creative Cloud, Avid Protools, and many other industry media creation tools. MCOM students have opportunities to get hands-on experience in the HDTV Studio, radio station, and with the Buccaneer Sports Network.
