Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The position is responsible for budget planning and implementation; planning, marketing, implementing alumni events and alumni awards programs, and staff supervision. A significant focus of the position is to assist with fundraising by working closely with development staff in University Advancement in generating support from alumni and involving alumni in appropriate events. The position will also work closely with other university offices and divisions. The executive director will also evaluate approaches for reaching and engaging alumni, including the role of social media, the format of alumni chapter activities, providing meaningful networking activities for alumni, and connecting alumni with Appalachian's Career Services and other job placement opportunities.
Experience working in an alumni affairs office in a university or college setting.

Work Schedule/Hours: Mon-Fri, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. except when travel, evening and weekend work is required
