Indiana University School of Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a digital content manager to join the Office of Strategic Communications and Visual Media team. The digital content manager develops, packages and promotes compelling content that is optimized for digital platforms in support of marketing communication objectives, which include enhanced visibility for thought leaders throughout the School, coverage by top-tier journalists and industry influencers, and brand positioning for faculty recruitment.
This position offers the opportunity to be part of an enthusiastic and collaborative team of digital marketers and communicators. On this team, you will grow as a digital marketer every day by contributing to strategy and brainstorming creative tactics to meet our goals and objectives. You'll interact with faculty and researchers to learn about their work and help them gain visibility as thought leaders in critical areas such as Alzheimer's disease, breast cancer, and musculoskeletal health. The digital content manager is a self-motivated and driven individual contributor who:
Proactively contributes ideas for content (including story ideas and related assets) and communication campaign timing to further enhance engagement and visibility.
Produces high-quality short, medium and long-form copy for digital platforms.
Partners with designers and programmers to create interplay between textual and visual elements.
Serves as a web editor for dozens of decentralized web leads throughout the school, ensuring consistency in voice and tone and providing guidance on digital best practices.
Curates a robust social media presence for the school.
Tracks performance for content placement and promotion initiatives, and shares feedback/analytics with the team in order to improve audience engagement and website performance.
REQUIRED: Bachelor's Degree in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations or related field, plus 3 years experience in content development for web and social media.
Experience in creating a social media presence for an organization and experience in developing and executing multi-channel campaigns. Strong technical understanding of web analytics and the ability to pick up new monitoring and reporting tools quickly. Excellent writing skills with the ability to shift tone and voice based on needs and interests of target audience. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where the demands and directions of the work are constantly changing, as well as ability to translate detailed, technical, scientific work into content targeting multiple audiences with varying levels of topic-specific knowledge and expertise.
