Vice President for Human Resources Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital – New Brunswick Find your place among the very best at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital! Reporting directly to the President and Chief Executive Officer of RWJUH and the CHRO for RWJBH, the VP for Human Resources is responsible for developing high-performing employees. S/he leads this effort in partnership with the leadership team and provides senior management with strategies and tactics to maintain a positive workplace experience. Responsibilities: - Human resource management functions including employment; employee relations; employee development; leadership development; labor relations; and workforce planning.
- Leadership of the ‘people’ functions of the organization, the ethical and social consciences of the business, and the laws, regulations and administrative rulings of governmental organizations and other regulatory/advisory authorities and organizations.
- Serves as a key resource and strategic advisor to executive leadership on matters related to culture, workplace environment, strategic decision-making, organizational structure, leadership selection, development and evaluation, and the installation of HR practices, labor, and programs that enable peak individual and organizational performance.
- Introduces new tools and breakthrough thinking—including talent management—to address strategic, operational, and fiscal challenges from the human resource perspective.
- Creates a streamlined HR function that promotes widespread sharing of resources, information, and best practices.
- Designs, improves, and implements human resource systems that facilitate strategic priorities, simplify and expedite the work of operations managers, add value at every level, aggressively manage administrative costs to budget and meet all legal, regulatory and ethical requirements.
- Leads the continuous improvement of employee engagement.
- Serves as a resource expert to all senior leadership in employee communications, engagement, organizational design, and organizational effectiveness.
- Maintains a positive work environment.
Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred with a concentration in human resources, business or the behavioral sciences.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in the field of Human Resources or related area. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Strong time management, organizational, leadership, communication and people skills.
- Extensive, senior-level executive experience in human resources and organizational development within a large system, complex, multi-site organization. Experience in the health care industry is preferred.
- Proven track record of success in leading an organization with a highly-engaged workforce and best-in-class HR practices.
- Able to work effectively with operations, finance, nursing and other senior leaders as part of a high performing executive leadership team and system.
- Experienced in labor relations with the capacity to participate on the labor team in the administration and negotiations of labor agreements.
