Social Media Specialist Office of the Chancellor-RC - United States-Pennsylvania - (19001385) Are you a creative person who loves social media? Can you effectively share the latest news in 140-characters or less? Do you like telling stories through photos, video, and other digital platforms? The University of Pittsburgh's Office of University Communications is seeking a talented, creative Social Media Specialist. The social media specialist will work closely with a creative staff to plan and execute strategy for the University's main social media accounts. This position is responsible for contributing to both long-term planning and daily content production and curation on multiple social media channels. The incumbent will: - Write and develop original social media content — including text, photography, and video — for the University - Align social media content and strategies with internal communication and marketing objectives - Assist in the planning, development, and implementation of projects/programs/campaigns - Measure the performance of social media accounts, campaigns and content, and regularly present analytics reports - Monitor social conversations and comments on all platforms to engage with the University's audience - Work simultaneously on multiple projects with the ability to serve as a leader and/or participant - Work closely with social media managers throughout the University to strengthen the University's presence - Help set and adjust guidelines and parameters for social media across the University - Research new social media trends, platforms, etc A work sample is required. Please provide a sample of social media content created for the following platforms: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn complete with performance indicators like reach, engagement, and click-throughs (if applicable). This should be attached as an "other" document within the application. ***Please note that this is a TEMPORARY ONE YEAR POSITION with an opportunity to become a permanent full-time role.*** Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, English, or combination of training and experience essential to the position. One to three years experience executing social media accounts required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office/Outlook, SharePoint, Box, social media platforms, photography, and publishing software is required. Prior experience in customer service, photography and Videography experience, design experience and skills (especially infographics and social media graphics) knowledge of Associated Press editorial style preferred.
