Harvard Allston Land Company is a subsidiary of the University and will oversee the planning and development for the University's Enterprise Research Campus (ERC) in Allston. Initial focus is to develop 14 acres of the ERC, which will include new infrastructure, streets, open space, mixed-use development of office and lab space, residential units and a hotel and conference center.
Reporting to the CEO of Harvard Allston Land Company (HALco) the Director of Infrastructure will serve as the point person for all infrastructure planning and design related to the Enterprise Real Estate Campus:
Responsible for implementing the horizontal infrastructure (open spaces, new streets, new pedestrian connections, utilities and other shared infrastructure) necessary to support this new development.
Lead efforts on infrastructure implementation for HALco and will collaborate closely with colleagues at the University-level responsible for utilities, project management, planning, transportation services, legal, permitting, public affairs, etc.
Work with HALco team members, University colleagues and other professionals to implement the vision and goals for the ERC.
Manage external service providers, including architects, engineers, contractors and other vendors or consultants, for the duration of their engagements including administering selection processes with stakeholder participation, negotiating contracts, and managing performance under the contract.
Oversee the environmental components of projects, including a focus on resiliency, with appropriate internal resources.
Determine collectively, with institutional peers, the technical approach and design criteria for infrastructure related projects.
Perform independent investigations, studies, and architectural analysis
Monitor and analyze changes in the regulatory environment that may impact the development plans and develops the response.

Candidates MUST meet the following basic qualifications in order to be considered for this role:
Bachelor's degree in, Urban Design, Architecture, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or a closely related field required. Minimum 10 years of related professional experience.
A graduate degree in Business, Real Estate or a related technical field would be a plus. Must have strong financial, technical, analytical, and communication skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a matrix team structure. Must have strong private-sector development, project finance, and project management skills and experience in complex large-scale multi-phased urban real estate mixed-use development projects including residential, retail, urban planning, design, and construction.
