Under the direction of the Assistant Director-Personnel, the Lifeguard will be responsible for the safety and rescue of patrons in and around the pool at all times of operation and assisting with secondary duties when assigned; cleans and sets up/tears down swim meet equipment; oversees safety and rescue of all patrons in and around the pool at all times of operation; represents the department, the university and ourselves with the highest degree of integrity at all times; conducts daily maintenance inspections of facility; ensures facility cleanness and security; promotes a positive, professional image at all times and provide consistent high quality customer service; exercises discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance, including but not limited to, governmental and public relations; legal and regulatory compliance; and supervising the aquatics facility; demonstrates positive, effective communication skills; works and encourages others to work, in a safe manner; demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of, and comply with, the facility rules, policies and procedures, and consistently and appropriately enforce them; interacts with student staff in order to understand and foster their values.
High school diploma or equivalent; American Red Cross Lifeguard & CPR-PR/AED certifications; previous experience as a lifeguard; ability to lift and manipulate up to 50 pounds.
Bachelor's degree; Certified Pool Operator (CPO), American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor (LGI), EMT certifications.
Target Salary: $12.00 - $14.00 Hourly
