COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST , edX , to join a Cambridge-based nonprofit that is s dedicated to growing access to high-quality online education to everyone, everywhere. Will create sharp marketing copy (web, email, social, and print); develop UI copy for interfaces, site messaging, errors, notifications, etc.; create microcopy and instructional copy; help develop a coherent and defined voice and tone; and start establishing the content strategy. Responsibilities include collaborating with stakeholders to create an inventory of copy needs; providing recommendations for how to address and prioritize needs; developing recommendations for voice and tone for everything from inspirational messaging to navigational labeling; managing and prioritizing multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously; building out copy development guidelines from the macro to the micro; working with colleagues to experiment and create great experiences with solid copy and messaging; supporting the creation of email campaigns and marketing collateral for new product offerings; and conducting user research with fellow Experience Team members.
REQUIRED : bachelor's degree in English, communications, writing, marketing, or journalism; at least two years' professional experience in the software/design/digital field; experience writing for global markets; a portfolio of at least three varying work samples that showcase your writing skills; experience managing stakeholders and editorial calendars; project management skills for managing a few streams of work (and their stakeholders) and deadlines at any given time; flexibility in times of change and the occasional emergency; critical thinking skills and ability to balance business and user needs in a practical and effective way; and comfort creating copy that is easily translated and designed for internationalization.
