The Director of Corporate Partnerships is a new position that will develop a strategy to create, implement, and manage the UCSD Rady School of Management's new Corporate Partnership program, reporting to the Rady Assistant Dean of Graduate Programs. The Director is responsible for engaging and expanding new and existing corporate partnerships to benefit the UCSD Rady School of Management, aligning the priorities of the Dean of the Rady School and the Rady areas of Graduate Programs, particularly the Careers unit and tangentially impacting Executive Education and Development and Alumni Relations.
This position establishes and manages a portfolio of national and international executives and corporate partners with a strong focus on establishing and expanding employment and internship opportunities for Rady MBA students, and Rady graduate students in the Masters of Business Analytics, Masters of Finance, and other Masters programs. The Director develops and executes strategies that will deliver new tangible employment and internships opportunities for Rady School of Management graduate students. This position provides an interface between Rady and the business community, expanding the Rady School brand to new partners and enhancing the brand with existing partners.
The position represents the UCSD Rady School of Management to senior executives in corporations and executive directors in industry associations. With input from senor leadership, the Director tailors strategies to different industries in San Diego, nationally, and internationally.
This is a position that makes a lasting impact on our graduate business students, professionals in their own right, who carry on the Rady School's tradition of entrepreneurship, innovation, and economic development.
Additional deliverables are:
Serving as a conduit for the Rady School of Management Dean: introductions/appointments at the highest-level of corporate organizations
Promoting student sponsorship/fellowship, student capstone project opportunities, internship and employment opportunities, on and off-campus recruiting activities, including supporting student treks and immersion trips outside of San Diego
Establishing relationships that lead to an increase in custom business seminars for corporate employers
Establishing and enhancing opportunities leading to new corporate philanthropic activity, sponsorship of faculty research and student fellowships, etc.
Must be willing and able to travel locally, domestically and internationally.Must have access to reliable transportation to travel to corporate locations and events.
This position is not eligible for overtime pay. Evenings and weekends may be required.
Minimum of ten (10) years experience in corporate relations and/or program development. Experience creating a network of corporate partners. Experience using a variety of outreach methods to establish a successful corporate/community outreach program, advisory board, mentorship program, or similar program.
Knowledge of public relations practices. Marketing and communications experience. Experience crafting and promoting a brand. Experience serving as a representative of a brand in the community, presenting a professional, diplomatic, positive demeanor at all times.
Experience in External Relations including Development, Communications, Stewardship, Alumni, Marketing, and Corporate/Industry Relations. Experience interacting directly with donors or corporate relations decision-makers.
Experience evaluating individual and corporations in relationship to their readiness to provide financial and other resource support. Success in assisting with identification, cultivation and solicitation of gifts from $25,000 and above.
Rapport and communication skills geared to corporate partners, experience developing collaborations and programs between industry and academia or another not-for-profit organization/foundation or similar organization.
Experience dealing person-to-person with corporate managers and executives in development of joint programs. Experience using creative ideas, synthesizing the needs of two different organizations to create a successful collaborative program.
