Reporting to the Chief of Staff and Strategic Advisor to the President, the Senior Project Manager serves as the critical conduit for information flowing to or from the President's office. In consultation with the Chief of Staff, the incumbent will manage the daily and long-term activities of the President's Office and advance the President's agenda.
Oversees the flow of the President's daily activities and ensures follow-up on the full range of issues and assignments
Makes determinations about the President's activities and calendar, provides direction on preparation of briefing materials and supplies some of the same, develops staffing plan, and manages recruitment of new staff.
Manage and provide development for direct reports including managing goal setting and performance management process.
Tracking workflow and ensuring projects across the office are adequately supported.
Provide special attention to sensitive and critical University matters (e.g. those related to visiting dignitaries, student affairs, press events, public relations issues, etc.)
Directs research activities of the office. Takes on and manages projects as required.
Serves as principal liaison between the President's staff and the Provost's staff and ensures effective collaboration between the two offices. Serves as a liaison for the President's team with colleagues across the university. S/he approaches work with a cross-functional and cross-University mindset and will assume primary responsibility for select projects/initiatives as directed.
Supports the Presidential Public Service Fellows, including budget, event planning, engagement, selection, management of Open Scholar site
Additional duties as assigned.

Candidates MUST meet the following basic qualifications in order to be considered for this role:
BA/BS plus a minimum of eight years of experience.
Prior Harvard University experience strongly preferred. Must be capable of managing multiple, diverse assignments/projects simultaneously, responding diplomatically to diverse constituencies, handling sensitive situations and information with discretion, and understanding and solving complex problems. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proven commitment in maintaining the highest ethical and professional standards, including professional integrity above reproach. The successful candidate will be expected to work outside of normal business hours.
