Position Description: Plan approximately 1500 events, conferences and meetings and over 3,000 catering delivery requests per year for campus and non-campus clientele. Responsible for selling meeting facilities in the northwest quadrant of campus representing approximately 60,000 sq. feet of meeting space divided amongst (3) full-service conference centers and other various locations within residential buildings. These facilities are utilized year-round in support of a robust Conference and Catering program that generates approximately $20 Million annually which goes toward off-setting student housing costs and provides additional income for facility improvements. Sales and Event Managers conduct sales calls (prospecting, cold calls, maintenance, setting appointments) and lead site visits. Support and promote the global sales efforts of other revenue generating entities in Housing & Hospitality Services such as the Lake Arrowhead Conference Center, Guest House and the Courtside Collection. Represent UCLA at networking functions and trade shows. Participate actively in distinguished memberships, associations, and organizations that increase the visibility of the department within the University, the community, and the hospitality industry. Negotiate and write detailed contracts, determine clients' needs and produce written proposals that include theme delineation, decor, and menu and service requirements. Create bookings in the Delphi Sales and catering system. Assist the Accounting department with billing and Accounts Receivable. Establish other services and products that will generate additional revenue for the department. Provide exemplary customer service skills while interacting with team members, meeting planners, and guests in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. Must have and maintain a valid California Driver's license.
