The executive assistant provides high-level administrative support to the director and the associate director of the Watson Institute for International and Public Affairs. The executive assistant also serves as a liaison between the director and the Instituteâ™s Board of Overseers, faculty, staff, and other key constituencies â“ including the Universityâ™s central administration and academic departments â“ with whom the director interacts. The executive assistant organizes the directorâ™s schedule, manages appointments, greets visitors, and maintains oversight over day-to-day building maintenance issues. The position requires an experienced administrator who is capable of exercising excellent judgment, independent initiative, the tactful handling of confidential situations, and an ability to deal with a wide variety of individuals.
Associateâ™s Degree and 3-4 yearsâ™ administrative experience, preferably in a university setting, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google calendar and internet research
Strong organizational, administrative and time-management skills
Demonstrated Initiative and good judgment
Demonstrated ability to independently prioritize, problem solve and execute tasks in a timely manner. Ability to work independently, but also as a team member
Strong oral and written communication skills to interact with multiple individuals including senior governmental officials, ambassadors, business executives, administrators, faculty and staff, students, and various service providers
