Designs, establishes, and oversees the integrated logistical and administrative support needs of multiple, complex, and wide reaching University and third party events, conferences, and/or other programs. Duties include:
Serves as a primary point of contact for both the client and the service providers.
Assesses program goals, prepares financial estimates, secures necessary AV and furniture equipment, determines and orders required catering, schedules and runs meetings, develops program budgets, and negotiates and administers service and client contracts.
Support and manage assigned logistical roles for major University events - including, but not limited to, Convocation, Family Weekend, Commencement, and special speakers.
Bachelorâ™s degree and 4 yearsâ™ experience planning and managing events, ideally in a higher education setting, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Knowledge and understanding of meeting and event planning principles, requirements, procedures, and available resources.
Knowledge of conference facilities, technology, and equipment preferred.
Highly skilled in organizing resources and establishing priorities, and the ability to develop, plan, and implement short- and long-range goals.
Ability to perform complex tasks and to prioritize multiple projects.
Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
Ability to use independent judgment and to manage and impart information to a range of clientele.
