Digital Content Creation
Keeps the Berkeley gateway site (berkeley.edu) content fresh, engaging and dynamic, with a mix of curated stories, edited content, and reimagined stories
Responsible for sourcing digital content from other campus units and leveraging it to tell the Berkeley story in a compelling manner consistent with the brand positioning
Creates thematic home pages for milestone campus events, E.g. new student welcome, Nobel prize wins etc.
Responsible for writing Critics Choice / other event descriptions as required
Social Media Creation and Support
Manages daily content and provides analytics on select social media channel(s)
Provides significant support for social media monitoring and response during campus emergencies and high news events
Advertising and Marketing support
Manages and supports the rollout of brand marketing initiatives and campaigns
Works closely with the design team on projects requiring creative ideas and copywriting
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training
A storyteller, first and foremost, with innovative ideas and an ability to bring them to life in unique, compelling ways
Thorough knowledge of the fundamentals of writing, grammar, syntax, editorial style, and punctuation, including skill to write in a clear and lively style.
Thorough knowledge of marketing and advertising processes
Thorough knowledge of key social media channels, protocols, campaigns and analytics
Experienced user of social media channel(s) for professional or personal reasons
Thorough interpersonal communication skills
Working knowledge of computer applications for image handling, publishing and design, presentation preparation
Working knowledge of content management systems preferred and/or relevant web applications used for web site production
Experience in creating marketing communications materials
