The Corporate Affairs Manager works with the Head of Corporate Affairs and the business developing media strategy for certain businesses within Citi in Australia and NZ. The successful candidate will have primary responsibility for implementing the agreed media strategy for certain business lines in Citi's institutional and consumer businesses. They will work in conjunction with and as a back-up for the Media Relations Head and support the internal communication team for their businesses. They will also have responsibility for developing and implementing a social media plan for their businesses.
The role has the following key accountabilities in conjunction with other team members:
Work with the Head of Corporate Affairs to develop an integrated PR strategy that supports the business.
Responsible for working with management and staff to implement this strategy
Responsible for ensuring that media queries are managed effectively
Writing briefing papers and key messages as per the plan to support the business and its products in external communication
Working with the Head of Corporate Affairs to provide media support for major projects
Source and develop stories for regional publications as needed
Ensure that the PR programme is measured and evaluated on a set of metrics agreed with the Head of Corporate Affairs.
Support internal communications programmes and implement social media strategies for their businesses
There is a strong focus on providing on internal communication advisory support for senior management which requires being comfortable working with the most senior levels of management.
To be successful in this position you must have the following skills and experience:
Previous public relations experience within financial services.
Strong understanding of both traditional and social media
Exceptional written skills
Ability to think creatively to deliver PR programmes that engages and connects with all employees and stakeholders
Excellent organisational capabilities
Attention to detail
The ability to meet deadlines
Strong team player
Ability to develop internal networks
